Seniors disobey! The results are
inventive and hilarious

Nurse Claudia is a tough love practitioner who runs an “assisted living” facility by the “book” and treats her residents as if their mission in life is to follow the rules and quietly take the final step. Judy, Wally and Mitzie who stay in the facility want to be more than couch potatoes recorded on hospital charts. Their resentment toward facility discipline runs high until Joe Taylor enters. His loyalty and tenacity take over and life at the facility turns into a hilarious camp of rebellion, disobedience and ingenuity.

A Facility for Living opens the Repertory’s 57th season on November 7th and runs every Thursday through Sunday until December 29, 2013.

All tickets, fundraisers, Bargain Booklets, and Subscriptions will remain the most affordable prices for not-for-profit professional theatre in the Region. General admission will remain $17 in advance and $20 the day of performance. The Rep’s “Anytime, Multi-Use” Gold Double Subscription for two is still the unmatched price of $100 and a Silver Single Subscription stays at $50. 10-ticket Bargain Booklets, Regular and Matinee are $110 and $100 respectively and still make great mini-fundraisers.

Casaundra Freeman & Aaron Kottke

The veteran artist and a founder of the Repertory, Barbara Busby, is directing A Facility for Living. She is living proof that aging does not dwindle creativity. Just last season she directed Postcards which went on to win the 2013 Black Tie Subscriber Best Play/Best Director Award. She has assembled a stellar cast of actors for A Facility for Living known for their fine work and comic gifts.

Casaundra Freeman returns to the Rep stage as Nurse Claudia. Last Season she won the Subscriber Best Female Actor Award for the role of Hattie in Postcards. David Glover, stand up comedian and actor, portrays Joe. Last season he was the dim-witted shoemaker in the raucous comedy, A Paradise of Fools. Angela King returns as the gentle soul, Judy. Angela was last seen at the Rep as the officious daughter in Taking Care of Mimi. Resident company member, Cornell Markham, returns as the irascible Wally. Cornell was last seen at the Rep in 2010 powerful drama My Soldiers. Trudy Mason portrays the pixilated ex-nurse Mitzi. Trudy was last seen at the Rep as the senior wife in the delightful comedy Engagement Rules. Finally, Aaron Kottke makes his debut at the Rep as the rambunctious orderly, Kevin.
