ABOUT LAPSES
Lapses is a fascinating and comical excursion into slips of Murray’s mind ––played by veteran and favorite Rep actor, Harold Hogan –– or are they bursts of imagination? Are his mental lapses failure of memory or switches of perspective? Are the very different reactions to his behavior by his wife and daughter, lapses of perception by them or tricks of their own concentration?

Top L to R: B.J. Love; Cornell Markham; Barbara Busby; Charlotte Nelson Bot: Harold Hogan
The play takes Murray and his two buddies –– performed by two more veteran Rep actors, B.J. Love and Cornell Markam –– through many comical twists and a few sad events. But, in the end it is our own mind that is tricked. Have we seen lapse, presage, or reality.
Two more veteran Rep favorites round out the cast –– Barbara Busby and Charlotte Nelson –– making the cast for Lapses, top to bottom, an all star lineup. Comedy and drama will not suffer any lapses.
Lapses is a whimsical yet disturbing story about quirks of the mind which cause concern and conflicting thoughts among friends and family. The line between reality and figments of the imagination is very, very thin.
Those of us lapsing along as our age advances will ponder the play for a long time unless we choose to forget.
